Executive Dashboard
🏠 Executive Summary - Your Delivery at a Glance
🧭 Overview
The Executive Summary is the default landing page in KnowHOW - designed to give leaders a single, unified view of delivery performance across their organization.
It highlights overall health, key trends, and improvement areas across Speed, Quality, Value, and DORA, helping decision-makers focus on where attention is needed most.
💡 In one view, you can understand how your delivery ecosystem is performing and where to act.
🎯 Why It Matters
In large delivery organizations, it’s easy to lose sight of how projects are performing collectively.
The Executive Summary eliminates that gap by offering:
A bird’s-eye view of all active programs or portfolios
Near real-time indicators of strengths and risks
A maturity-based performance summary that translates delivery health into actionable insights
📈 It transforms scattered metrics into a clear, decision-ready view.
⚙️ What You’ll See
🔹 Top Metrics Panel
Overall Health Overview – See how many programs are Healthy, At Risk, or Critical
Average Efficiency – A single score reflecting delivery performance across all dimensions
Category Highlights – Quick insight into Speed, Quality, Value, and DORA maturity levels
🟢 Green → Performing well 🟡 Yellow → Needs attention 🔴 Red → Critical risk
🔹 Performance by Program
A clear table showing each program or project’s health across the key dimensions of Speed, Quality, Value, and DORA
Visual cues and color-coded tiles make it easy to spot strong performers and those needing focus
Sort and filter to analyze performance at different hierarchy levels
🔹 Trends & Highlights
KnowHOW automatically surfaces Top Positive and Top Negative KPI trends
View key risks and improvement opportunities in one place
Directional arrows and % changes quickly indicate where delivery performance is improving or declining
For each KPI, the system uses its fixed evaluation window, reads the start and end values, and computes the percent change as: trendValue = ((end − start) / |start|) × 100. Each KPI includes a predefined impact direction indicating whether an increase represents a positive or negative outcome
🔹 Maturity & Efficiency Snapshot
A simple, color-coded visual showing overall maturity across Speed, Quality, Value, and DORA
Aggregated scores indicate how balanced your delivery practices are across categories
Enables quick identification of systemic improvement opportunities
Project Health Calculation Logic
Project Health provides a unified view of delivery performance across key categories - Speed, Quality, Value, and DORA. Each category is driven by its underlying KPIs, which are translated into maturity scores (M1–M5) based on predefined thresholds.
How It’s Calculated
KPI Scoring:
Each KPI is converted to a maturity score (1–5) using defined benchmark thresholds.Category Scoring:
The category score is the weighted average of its KPI maturity scores, capped from 1 to 5.Overall Project Efficiency Score (PES):
Each category contributes to the overall PES based on its configured weight:
PES = Σ [category_weight × category_score]
KPI Category weights are as follows: SPEED 25%, QUALITY 25%, VALUE 25%, DORA 25%.Project Efficiency Percent (PE%):
PES is normalized to a 0–100 scale for easier interpretation:
PE% = (PES ÷ 5) × 100Health Band Classification:
Green (Healthy): PE% ≥ 80
Amber (Moderate): 50 ≤ PE% < 80
Red (Critical): PE% < 50
Handling Missing Data:
If a category lacks sufficient data, the assessment is flagged as incomplete, i.e., the category weight is excluded.
💡 How to Use It
Start here – Use this view as your default check-in on delivery health.
Drill down – Click a program to explore detailed insights and trends.
Identify actions – Focus on red or declining indicators to drive improvement discussions.
Track progress – Review changes to gauge the impact of timely interventions.
🧭 In Summary
The Executive Summary is more than a dashboard - it’s your command center for delivery performance.
It gives executives, program managers, and engineering leaders a shared, data-driven understanding of where they stand, what’s working, and what needs improvement.
Connecting performance metrics to delivery maturity enables smarter decisions, faster action, and measurable business outcomes.
